3W Networks chosen as Telecom System Integrator for QP Multi-Product Pipeline Project
Punj Lloyd Group an established EPC contractor has awarded 3W Networks the Telecoms portion of the Qatar Petroleum Multi-product Pipeline Project from the refinery at Messaieed to the Doha depot of Qatar Fuel (WOQOD).
The scope of work for the Telecoms Systems Integrator includes the Detailed Design, Engineering, Procurement, Systems Integration, Factory Acceptance Testing and the Installation & Commissioning of an Ethernet based optical transmission network for carrying the data signals of the SCADA network in a redundant configuration to new and existing stations. The network will also carry Voice over IP (VoIP) and provide the network for the Fire & Gas and DCS systems.
3W Networks will implement the network using the industrially hardened, fully managed, modular, RSG2100 ethernet switch from Ruggedcom of Canada. The equipment is to be fully integrated with Qatar Petroleum's existing telecom network.
The RSG2100 utilises superior ruggedized hardware design which when coupled with the embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS?) provides improved system reliability and advanced cyber security and networking features making it ideally suited for creating secure ethernet networks for mission-critical, real-time, control applications. The RSG2100 is packaged in a rugged galvanized steel enclosure with industrial grade DIN 19" rack-mount and can operate within temperatures from up to +85?C without fans.
